BEIJING · SINCE 2012
The link between global capital and China’s technology leaders.
For over a decade, I led Chinese founders and investors into Silicon Valley, New York, London, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, and Central Asia. Today, I bring international investors and technology executives into China’s boardrooms — Fifty-plus delegations, five hundred-plus executives and investors engaged, one standard: the introduction has to lead somewhere.
Tony Liu — Founder, Hongru Link
What I do
Three things, done properly.
I work on a small number of mandates at a time. Every engagement starts with a specific question — a company to reach, a partner to find, a market to test — and ends with a documented answer, not a list of business cards.
Cross-border investor advisory
Bridging international investors with top-tier Chinese listed companies across A-shares, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and US markets — full-lifecycle support from target screening and site visits through due diligence and the transaction itself.
Inbound delegations & industry tours
End-to-end management of site visits for international delegations to China’s leading frontier-tech enterprises across AI, robotics and advanced manufacturing: agenda design, corporate and government access, interpretation, logistics and on-the-ground accompaniment.
Exhibitions & strategic matchmaking
Orchestrating international delegation attendance at major Chinese expos and conferences, with targeted business matchmaking and deal-making support before, during and after the event.
Track record
Selected engagements, 2013–2026.
Selected engagements. Further detail available on request under NDA.
Joined Hanhai Investment Inc., one of the first Sino-American technology incubators, mentoring TMT startups and running senior-level bilateral technology events.

Led delegations of Chinese entrepreneurs, executives and institutional investors — including representatives from Alibaba, ByteDance, Greenwoods Asset Management and CITIC PE — to the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Japan and Central Asia to unlock strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.

Delegation featuring the President of Changjiang Securities and the Founding Partner of ByteDance's Jinqiu Fund met Henry Cornell, former Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking — outcome: an ongoing co-investment dialogue.

Delegation featuring the Partner of Greenwoods Asset Management and the Vice President of iKang Healthcare Group met Randy Wayne Schekman, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine — outcome: ongoing keynote speaking invitations and advisory roles.

Delegation including corporate leaders — the Senior Advisor of JD.com and the President of Home Capital — met Oleg Andreyevich Pekos. First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan — outcome: ongoing investment discussions and market-entry support.

Orchestrated the China visit of the Founder of the International Association of AI in Brazil and professor at USP, with meetings at SenseTime and ByteDance — establishing core partnerships and opening ByteDance’s advanced AI models to Brazilian enterprises.

Led an industrial research and matchmaking tour in Xiamen for Central Asian tech innovators — ApartX (Kazakhstan) and OX Group (Uzbekistan) — and facilitated a strategic cooperation agreement between the Khan Tengri Innovation Hub and Xiamen Siming Future Science Park.

Arranged and led a site visit for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and former Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation — to Beijing robotics leader Galbot, laying groundwork for strategic cooperation.

Earlier cross-border transactions include facilitating Zhongnan Group’s investment in US-based PeerNova and the strategic investment by Japan’s SBI Group in 9F Inc.
How we start
Three steps, no retainer until it makes sense.
A 30-minute call
You describe the target, the market or the partner you need. I tell you honestly whether I can reach it, and who I would approach first.
A scoped mandate
Written scope: targets, timeline, deliverables, fee structure. No open-ended hours, no success fee hidden in the fine print.
Introductions, then follow-through
Warm introductions with context on both sides, meeting support where useful, and a written read-out after each round.
ABOUT Tony
Based in Beijing. Fluent in both sides of the table.
I came to this work from finance, not translation. After a Master’s in Finance at the University of Plymouth, I worked with a Sino-American incubator in Silicon Valley — and discovered that the scarce thing was never information about China. It was a person on the ground who could tell you which meeting was worth taking.
Since 2015, I have led delegations for Chinese entrepreneurs and investors abroad, and hosted international funds, executives and associations inside China. The work is the same in both directions: get the right people in the room, prepare both sides properly, and stay accountable for what happens after the handshake.
Working languages: English (Fluent), Mandarin (Native). Based in Beijing (GMT+8).
